"A journey around the world"
at the CHIO Aachen 2008
Horse & Symphony staged for the first time again after
three years - With the Symphony Orchestra Aachen
World Vaulting Champion Kai Vorberg, the manifold
Olympic Dressage Champion Monica Theodorescu and the Symphony
Orchestra Aachen under the lead of Musical Director Marcus
R. Bosch will take the audience along on "A journey
around the world". In the course of the World Equestrian
Festival, CHIO Aachen, the concert "Horse & Symphony"
will again be staged in the Deutsche Bank Stadium for the
first time since 2005, on Saturday, June 28th at 8.30 p.m.
"It will be an event in a class of its
own - just like it is appropriate for the CHIO Aachen",
says Frank Kemperman, General Manager of the Aachen-Laurensberger
Rennverein e.V. (ALRV). For the Symphony Orchestra Aachen,
it is by now almost a matter of course to set the tempo
in the stadium. "Each time, the CHIO's special atmosphere
makes "Horse & Symphony" a highlight of our
season", says Bosch. In 2008, the concert will be staged
for the fourth time since 2003. The event had not taken
place in 2006 due to the World Equestrian Games and in 2007
due to orchestra holidays.
Bosch promised legendary melodies that
will be accompanying the presentations of Vorberg and Theodorescu,
young riders from Aachen, the Tanzsportzentrum Aachen and
the Tanzwerkstatt Carla Brettschneider. Choreograph of the
whole show will again be Renate Dahmen. Melodies from Tschaikowsky's
"Swan Lake", waltzes by Strauß, Arabic folk
music, pieces of musicals and movies - the music will be attuned
to specific countries, a true musical journey around the world.
For the Symphony Orchestra Aachen, the concert will be the
final concert of the season. "And on this occasion, we
will be able to show the whole range of our skills",
says Bosch.
