Federal President Köhler visits the CHIO Aachen 2008
German head of state comes to see the Mercedes-Benz Nations' Cup under floodlight - Broadcast live on German ZDF

Federal President Prof. Dr. Horst Köhler will visit the World Equestrian Festival, CHIO Aachen 2008. The German head of state will come to see the Prize of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Mercedes-Benz Nations' Cup on Thursday evening. The Federal President is also the patron of the CHIO Aachen.

The Nations' Cup which is part of the Samsung Super League will be carried out under floodlight and will be broadcast live on German ZDF as of 9.00 p.m. It belongs to the most spectacular and most famous competitions of the ten-day tournament. Starting at 7.00 p.m. on Thursday, July 3rd, the teams from Great Britain, Switzerland, Sweden, the USA, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany will compete against each other. This year, the CHIO Aachen begins on June 27th and ends on July 6th. After 2005, Host Köhler will visit Aachen's Soers for the second time. He will not only watch the Mercedes-Benz Nations' Cup, but will also hand over the Challenge Trophy of the Federal Republic of Germany to the winning jumping team in the course of the prize giving ceremony.
