Roger-Yves Bost wins the accom-Prize
French rider was the first winner of the jumping competitions

Michael Whitaker tried his very hardest, but the British rider simply wasn't able to beat the time with his stallion Insul Tech Up To date: The French rider, Roger-Yves Bost, claimed victory in the first jumping competition, the accom Prize, with a clear round in a time of 67.33 seconds on the French gelding, Jovis de Ravel. He took almost two seconds less than Whitaker to complete the course. Carsten-Otto Nagel (Wedel) finished as the best German rider, taking third place with the Holstein mare Natalie.

Roger-Yves Bost always seems to be particularly motivated at the start of the show in Aachen, namely the 42-year-old also won the accom Prize last year, albeit with his mare Lolita de la Lodge. The French rider - who can always top the field - was above all very successful on the show-jumping scene in the 90s and has been a fixed member of the French teams at Championships. For instance he took gold with the team at the first World Equestrian Games in Stockholm, as well as picking up a silver medal in The Hague in 1994 and in Rome in 1998.

Together with his fellow countryman Michel Robert, Roger Yves Bost is competing at the CHIO Aachen 2008 as an individual rider, because the French team were relegated from the Super League last year, so they weren't able to send a team to the "World Equestrian Festival" to take part in the Nations' Cup.
