Ellen Schulten-Baumer forced
to withdraw from the CHIO
Donatha didn't pass the vet check
64 dressage horses from 14 nations passed the
obligatory vet check; only one didn't get the green light
from the Veterinary Commission this morning. "Unfortunately
Donatha wasn't one hundred percent okay. And the horses are
only allowed to compete if they are totally fit," said
Holger Schmezer, national coach of the German dressage riders,
with regret. Since this means that Ellen Schulten-Baumer (Rheinberg)
won't be able to ride at the CHIO Aachen. Schulten-Baumer
won silver with the German dressage team last year at the
European Championships in Turin, Italy on the 14-year-old
Donnerhall daughter. The 29-year-old rider is on the long
list of nominees for the Olympic Games, and was hoping to
make a good impression in the CDI Tour in Aachen to further
improve her chances of receiving a ticket to Hong Kong.
