The German eventing team ahead in the Nations' Cup
The Dutch rider Tim Lips currently topping the field in the DHL Prize

Bettina Hoy plummeted in the rankings of the interim results of the DHL Prize at the World Equestrian Festival, CHIO Aachen 2008. After the dressage competition the Team World Champion was clearly in the lead with Ringwood Cockatoo. However, in the jumping round she suffered a refusal, knocked down two fences and collected time faults, which meant she crashed down to 26th place with a score of 67 points. Nevertheless, after the first two disciplines in the Nations' Cup, the German eventing team is still in first place with a total score of 148.80 before setting off on the cross-country track tomorrow, ahead of Sweden (166.10) and France (185.20).

After riding clear in the show-jumping competition, the Dutch rider Tim Lips is the overnight leader with the 12-year-old Blom's Oncarlos with an interim result of 43.70 points. Followed by Ingrid Klimke (Münster), who added a further six points to her dressage result. She had saddled the 11-year-old Hanoverian gelding and their interim score now totals 46.40. The Belgian rider, Karin Donckers, is close on her heels with Gazelle de la Brasserie with 47.60 points. The previous year winner, Frank Ostholt (Warendorf), is currently lying in fourth and fifth place and has got two "hot" irons in the fire for tomorrow's cross-country competition -, Mr. Medicott (50.10) and Air Jordan (50.20).

The first horse sets off on the 3,990 m long track at 9.30 a.m. tomorrow morning.
