Isabell Werth also wins the Lindt Prize:
Third victory for the Team World Champion

After winning the Grand Prix
on Thursday, it was no great surprise that Isabell Werth (Rheinberg)
also claimed the winning rosette this evening with Warum nicht
in the floodlit Grand Prix Spècial of the CDI Tour,
the Lindt Prize at the World Equestrian Festival, CHIO Aachen
2008. With a score of 73.320 the Team World Champion secured
a clear lead over her fellow competitors with the 12-year-old
Weltmeyer son. She was however not completely happy with her
performance: "Unfortunately, I made several mistakes
in the flying-changes, which were definitely down to a lack
in my concentration."
Andreas Helgstrand (Denmark), who rode last,
squeezed into second place with a score of 70.480 percent
with his 15-year-old stallion Blue Hors Don Schufro, narrowly
beating Monica Theodorescu/Sassenberg), who was awarded 70.120
percent for her performance with the 10-year-old gelding from
Baden Wurttemberg, Whisper. "He performed better than
ever, it was a super feeling, but somehow I completely messed
up the flying-changes," Theodorescu said a little annoyed
with herself. 67 and not tired at all: Hiroshi Hoketsu achieved
69.400 percent with the 11-year-old Hanoverian mare, Whisper.
The Japanese rider is the oldest participant competing at
the CHIO Aachen this year. He is almost a local matador: Hoketsu,
who qualified for the World Championships in 2006 and will
be travelling to Hong Kong, trains with Ton de Ridder in Oberforstbach,
close to Aachen.
