German victory in the Wohnwelt Pallen Marathon
Two accidents caused luckily only minor injuries

Michael Brauchle won the Wohnwelt Pallen Marathon of the four-in-hand drivers. The 18-year.old student from Lauchheim is a member of the German Young Talent Group and is a born and bred driver: His father Franz Brauchle was a four-in-hand driver and his brother Steffen drives ponies successfully. Brauchle drove to victory with a score of 98.72 points. The Dutch driver Koos de Ronde came second ahead of the French driver Benjamin Allaud. Ijsbrand Chardon who has already participated at eight World Championships finished fourth.

Unfortunately, there were two accidents on the Marathon course. Boyd Exell's carriage overturned at obstacle 7, whilst obstacle 4 proved to be the downfall for the Swedish driver Fredrik Persson. "Boyd Exell's groom has a face injury and the hospital is keeping him there overnight for observation. The same applies for Fredrik Persson, who was retained with suspected chest injuries," announced Frank Kemperman, Show Director of the CHIO. "It was possible to stop both driverless carriages very quickly and the horses sustained no injuries."
