the Olympic Games
Isabell Werth, Nadine Capellmann, Heike Kemmer and Monica
Theodorescu in Aachen
First of all CHIO Show Director, Frank Kemperman
handed her over a bunch of flowers for her birthday, then
the new Olympic outfit: Together with the German dressage
team, Isabell Werth was fitted out with a new team outfit
on Monday for the Olympic Games 2008. Werth, Nadine Capellmann,
Heike Kemmer, Monica Theodorescu as well as the National
Coach Holger Schmezer received their new jackets, trousers
and boots at the offices of the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein
(ALRV), organisers of the CHIO Aachen. The horses of the
dressage stars are currently in quarantine at the stables
of the show grounds at the Aachen Soers, which is where
they are also training over the last few days before flying
off to Hong Kong on July 25th.
"The training conditions are simply
perfect in Aachen," said the World Champion, Isabell
Werth, while trying on the new clothes. She is considered
to be a top candidate to win a gold medal in both the individual
and team classifications. In order to also ensure that the
best possible framework conditions are guaranteed in Hong
Kong, the team has also been fitted out from head to foot
with new clothes by the German Equestrian Federation (FN).
"A very important factor was that the clothes are breathable
and rainproof," commented Björn Plaas of the FN.
