CHIO Aachen: German dressage equipe clad for the Olympic Games

First of all CHIO Show Director, Frank Kemperman handed her over a bunch of flowers for her birthday, then the new Olympic outfit: Together with the German dressage team, Isabell Werth was fitted out with a new team outfit on Monday for the Olympic Games 2008. Werth, Nadine Capellmann, Heike Kemmer, Monica Theodorescu as well as the National Coach Holger Schmezer received their new jackets, trousers and boots at the offices of the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein (ALRV), organisers of the CHIO Aachen. The horses of the dressage stars are currently in quarantine at the stables of the show grounds at the Aachen Soers, which is where they are also training over the last few days before flying off to Hong Kong on July 25th.

"The training conditions are simply perfect in Aachen," said the World Champion, Isabell Werth, while trying on the new clothes. She is considered to be a top candidate to win a gold medal in both the individual and team classifications. In order to also ensure that the best possible framework conditions are guaranteed in Hong Kong, the team has also been fitted out from head to foot with new clothes by the German Equestrian Federation (FN). "A very important factor was that the clothes are breathable and rainproof," commented Björn Plaas of the FN.
